Bangalore, Feb 4: Hijab and saffron controversy among PU college students has caused a heated debate in the state. The Education Department has come forward to curb this.

Following the order of the Karnataka High Court, a committee will be constituted to implement the Uniform Policy in Government Graduate Colleges. The government has come forward to cut the hijab and saffron issue. According to the Department of Education, uniforms are already in effect in 75 percent of PU colleges. SDMC committees are making decisions on them.

These are mandatory for the next academic year. Formal trousers and shirts for students are uniform.
